Yeah yeah, I know, I don't post much, and it's been a while since I added any images.
I have been concentrating on Live Video Astronomy for the last 12 or more years but I have just started back into Astrophotography and I had forgotten half of what I used to know
I recently purchased a Canon 450d which is a step up for me from my old 350d LOL!
So far my results aren't much better than my old 350d images, but I hope they improve. Here's some of my new images:
__________________________
Tarantula Nebula and surrounds in the Large Magellanic Cloud
3 x 120 second light frames stacked in Sequator
Processed in Photoshop CS5: (Exposure slightly raised, Black level reduced in Levels, and saturation lowered)
Focus was slightly out but I'm pretty happy with this first result
__________________________
This one took a bit longer because it is a composite in HDR made up of many differing exposure lengths to prevent burnout in the core:
M42 Orion Nebula
Exposures: 1x2 sec, 1 x 5 sec, 1 x 10 sec, 1 x 20 sec, 1 x 40 sec, 1 x 60 sec, 1 x 90 sec, 1 x 120 sec
Stacked in EasyHDR, processed in Photoshop CS5: (Contrast, Guassian Blur, Sharpen)
Still plenty of noise
___________________________
Carina Nebula (NGC3372)
4 x 60 seconds, stacked in Sequator, PhotoShop (Levels, sharpen, Crop)
in between bursts of cloud and a massively speeding Jetstream
___________________________
Gabriela Mistral Nebula and NGC 3293 Gem Cluster
8 x 80 seconds stacked in Sequator
PhotoShop: Levels, Saturation, Sharpen, Crop.
___________________________
Sombrero Galaxy - M104
4 frames x 120 seconds (to keep it under 10 minutes total)
Needs to be captured again on a night without mist and bushfire smoke. It has really killed the detail.

Re: My Update
Decent quality deep-sky pictures despite pretty short integration times. Well done!
Re: My Update
Good to see you back into astrophotography once again, Ken! Are these taken from your home observatory? Your sons must be so big now! take care.
