My Deep Sky Astrophotography

Post by leslie128 »

I commenced DS Astrophotography on 21 Jan 2022 and my 1st DSO was M42, Orion Nebula. Due to travel to Malaysia by land was still not open, I can only shoot DSOs in Singapore.

I realised in Feb 2022. Should be due to slightly out of focus and resulted in elongated stars.
Hopefully I can redo in near future.

After I shot M42, I decided to try Flame Nebula and Horsehead Nebula. Unfortunately, I didn’t turn on the dew heater of the camera and resulted at least two dew marks on the glass panel in front of the sensor of the camera. I only realised this mistake during the next shooting session in Feb 2022. After I cleaned it, it was back to normal.

Weather was no good for the month of Feb 2022. I managed to try about 8 DSOs. They are faint and small. Just for practice.
