big 5 day star camp 2008

Post by Astro Arthur »

Hi All
Keep your eyes open.

Have heard that a mega event is being arranged for Mount Macedon Observatory over the 6th-10th March 2008.

The site is about 1-2 hrs drive out of melbourne and at this stage I will be doing the 1000km (about 12hour drive) trip down from my home to attend.

The details are a bit scant at present but it is being organised by the observatory and an astronomy magazine.

I have heard that a web site is being setup in the lead up to the event.

there is some information on the star party forum at iceinspace.com.au.

To me it looks exciting

Thanks for the tinker, Arthur!
Looks like this could be enticing to the regular australia-bound astronomers like Remus, Sam Lee, Elton and Gavin...heh
