Hi all,

My friend went to buy a scope-mount package from Skywatcher and he only wanted the OTA. So I have brand new HEQ-5 mount which is still in the boxes. I didn't open it.

S$2000

Its GOTO with autoguider port and low periodic error and firm ware upgradable and it's loading capacity is 30 lbs. In my view, it is the best starter's mount for astrophotography and for serious visual observing. Supporting C9.25 is not a problem.

Thanks for looking.

Coupled with Kayheem's SCT 8", you will have a full set GOTO ready for serious observing. I tested the bigger brother mount, EQ-6 pro throughly, it is accurate in GOTO and tracking. Excellent for planetary imaging also!

Yous is it the white or black version? If white it goes well with kay heem's white meade sct :)

Right now I am testing the GPS adapter from Skywatcher that can go with the HEQ-5 mount. Its good for people like me who are bad with longitudes and latitudes!

The GPS adapter is totally idiot-proof to use. Plug it in, then the controller shows "GPS Fixing", then after it shows "Start alignment?". All the location data and time data are all downloaded already.

I decided to open the boxes. I would want to make sure that the mount is working well. So now the price is

S$1900 after opening the box.

The only danger is that, I may end up keeping the mount if I like the mount! Haha.

Hi all,

Just realised the metal peg is over one of the tripod legs so it can't be lowered to 0 latitude without collision. I will be sending the tripod base to the machine shop to modify.

So, you all can reserve the mount first.
