How about just putting a redirect?
Most casual surfers are stumped and move on when the www. index.html dun bring them to a graphics page or some home page thingie

Just my 2 cents...

Will transfer forums.singastro.org to www.singastro.org during the weekends just came back from the 5D4N outfield..... since last sunday. Meanwhile, visitors will redirect from that website to this.
