This award winning anime was shown in Singapore recently.
Managed to catch it and its great...highly recommended!
Go get the DVD! For geeks and romantics alike.
The cinematography is excellent as usual for a Jap production...You can
see so much details in the imagery...
Someone did a video clip here compiling scenes from the show with the theme song :

But I like the MTV though...
The creater of the video tried to make it look more melancholic to match the song but in realiy, most of the show is relatively funny. She wasted most of her trips on trivial matters like prolonging a kara-oke session or jumping back to a test paper when she knows all the questions and answers. And in doing so, she inadvertantly endanger those around her.
See the show and you will be blown away by true tradition Jap anime....
You'll like it because time travel requires tachyon particles, right?

Another nice show to recommend.
This movie is only 30 minutes! It was done by a Japanese anime amateur.
He started off the project as a hobby after winning an award for an earlier film about a cat but as he tracks his progress through his blog, its sophistication attracted a commercial company who decided to release the film commercially. They got professional actors to re-dub the voices but otherwise the film remains intact. The DVD includes his earlier award winning cat film as well as clips by the animator on how he did it on his macintosh.
Its a love story...a sad one too although you may think its a "gundam-type" movie initially. The visuals are stunning!
it tracks the mobile phone communication between a 15 year old girl mecha fighter pilot and her boyfriend and how they age differently due to travelling at light speed. As she travels to Sirius to battle aliens threatening earth, his boy friend ages faster than her in accordance with einstein's theories. Don't miss it!
The show won the following awards! Not bad for a young animator on his home pc! :
* 2002 Digital Contents Grand Prix - The Award for image design (Entertainment Category)
* 2002 Tokyo International Animation Fair 21 - The Highest Award (Public Offering Category)
* 2002 Animation Kobe - The Award for Packaging
* 2002 Agency for Cultural Affairs Media Arts Festival - Digital Arts Special Prize
* 2002 Japan Otaku Award - The Gunbuster Award
* 2002 AMD Award - Best Director
* 2003 Seiun Award - Best Media of the Year
