i have one C8 to let go. it doesn't get used much since i mostly use my sn8 ...
i bought it used, with two previous owners.

[s]you can have the OTA + visual backs, skylight filter only - s$500 ono[/s] sold
[s]or with a GSO 2-speeds crayford focuser - near new, s$150 ono[/s] sold
or with a hypertuned lxd-55 (i've another lxd-75, this lxd-55 is what i have permanently mounted in my backyard obs now, but they both work equally good, i really don't need two, ask my wife...) s$500 ono

i'll be traveling to JB on 2nd-4th March, so there's a chance i can hand carry it there to an interested buyer...

btw, all optics are kept in a dehumidified room all the time.

numerous parties have expressed interest

but since i'm in borneo, it's more challenging to deal.

esp when my next trip is to JB and not singapore... but i'll have trips to singapore later this year. perhaps it'll be better if i post before i go sing...?

same good price. same condition - it's kept in my dry room and didn't see any light since my last post.

i've taken photos of the c8 ota and the crayford focuser

but alas the internet speed here is very slow, so i'll need to upload them tomorrow. it's a common phenomenon in malaysia whenever something seems to be going on....

since i'm here already... let have more info...:

the crayford focuser is LNIB with a little mark... under the stars 2 or 3 times max for test...

the c8 ota comes with dovetail, a mounting rail - for guidescope, finder, camera, as a handle and whatever else you can think of, a skylight filter (for keeping dust out), 2" & 1.25" visual back, front cover, and bob's knobs. the ota is fairly old and well used with numerous marks, scratch sticker glue, etc. on the tube. there are missing accessory mounting screws (i only add them when required). the corrector and mirror has dust on them, and may have a handful of very minor marks inside the corrector. i'm not confidence enough to clean take the ota apart to clean it and it doesn't really affect the visual image as far as i know how to tell any difference...

Hi there,

May i have some opinions if this is a good buy for a beginner? How much on top of the 500 for the OTA will i have to fork out to make this scope complete.
i.e Mounting, Eyepieces etc.? A ball park figure perhaps?

Thanks!
