Baby FSQ is finally out!

Post by rcj »

The smaller version of FSQ106ED is finally out, mimicking it's bigger 'brother' in terms of colour-free performance and contrast. It is called the FSQ85ED or known as the "Baby Q" to the western world. Some preliminary specs are:

Aperture: 85mm
F.Length: 450mm
F.Ratio: F/5.3
External Tube Diameter: 95mm
Tube Length: 615mm
Weight: 3.8kg
Finder: 6X30

Optional configurations for imaging include:
1) QE0.73X Reducer (fl=327mm, F3.8)
2) ED1.5X Extender (fl=680mm, F8)

[80% Steve, 20% Alfred] ------- Probability of Clear Skies = (Age of newest equipment in days) / [(Number of observers) * (Total Aperture of all telescopes present in mm)]

C'mon guys, while only 5mm less aperture, a brand new baby fsq is only half the price of a second hand AP Stowaway :)
