Where to buy heavy-duty push trolley?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Where to buy heavy-duty push trolley?

Post by Tachyon »

Anyone knows where I could get a good quality heavy-duty trolley to ferry my scope around? I have one of those from hardware shop but the wheels couldn't take it after a few runs. Load approx. 20 kg.

Thanks!

What kind of scope are you pushing around? Where did you get the present trolley from? Hands DIY or similar 'wimpy' hardware shop?

Something like this is rated at 150kg:

This can be found at the bigger HDB hardware shops, Homely Hardware or around Serangoon area. There is 1 shop diagonally opp Mustafa's, along one of the small lanes.

Go to any good hardware shop and get those with normally a Yellow Base, from Japan with good quality wheel bearings. Cost around S$ 80-100 as compared against the China Made one at around S$35-50.

No problem with my 12" & accessories.

Mine is a 4-wheel trolley with plastic base from Prestar, made in Japan.
Max. payload is rated for 120kg, no sweat for the Astrosky 11" dob which weighs 30.5kg without accessories. I have used it for about 10 years already and it still works well. You can get it from many hardware shops for about $100.

Prestar trolleys (newer versions) are best. No squeeky sounds and very smooth. King George avenue has many stores selling them. Look around and yyou can find the best bargain.

I recommend weixing....you can't get a more proven heavy duty "trolley" than him.... [smilie=uhuhuh.gif] [smilie=cool.gif]

Have you considered those push trolleys instead. They can take alot of weight but of course, the footprint is huge...

Very good smooth bearings. If squeaky, just add some grease/oil and it won't squeak anymore.
