Orion Nebula (M42 region) Re-processed

Post by universe24 »

Hi all,

First time shot this object at my home observatory, 2km from KL city center.
The result image is very encouraging for those who would like to try astrophotography but no time to travel so far away from home.
Photography data is inside the photo, please check it out. Any comments & questions are welcome.
Hope you all like it.

Hi Mr Universe, very nice shot!

Btw, interesting that you only used ISO200 to capture those subs, from my experience, 350D can handle up to ISO800 with acceptable noise signature.... [smilie=good-job.gif]

Wow, a pretty shot! Sure hope someday will be able to go into astrophotography, although it'd probably cost me a bomb. (:

Yes, I purposely set the ISO at 200. This is because I want to strengthen the exposure time...hoping to gain better image quality. I also considered the readout noise of the camera at short exposure. Thus, I chosen ISO200 as it can give me 4 mins exposure. If use ISO400 or ISO800, the exposure is 3 mins & 1.5 mins respectively, which I feel not enough to deal with readout noise.
