Is PM in Outbox considered Sent ?

Whenever I replied to a PM the message will go into the Outbox just like
when we use Outlook. But will not go into the Send box until maybe
sometime later or not at all.

Question:-
Does PM in Outbox considered 'sent' or we must wait until it goes into the 'Sent' box? Is there a 'delay duration' before each PM is actually
sent.

Thanks

Hi Wee Kiong
PM are only delivered when they appear in the 'Sent' box. Have your mails been persistently stuck in the 'Outbox'?

The same problem has been happening to me.

No wonder people don't reply... :?

Is it that PMs appear in the outbox until they are read by the person it is sent to?

Hi guys
To clarify, the PMs remain in the Outbox UNTIL the mail is read by the addressee, whereupon they will be transferred to the Sent box.

Hi,

On this topic, can I suggest that the 'Notification of incoming PM by email' be enabled by default for new users? People often miss their personal messages because its inconspicous. They can disable if they don't want.

So I can confirm once our replied PM is in the 'Outbox' it means we have Replied. When the sender acknowledges it, it will be in our 'Sent' box.

In effect :-

PM in 'Outbox'
recipent replies but does not know if sender acknowledges

PM in 'Sentbox'
sender acknowledged

Clarification to Chris Yeo,
"Notify on new Private Message" is already on by default.
