Jupiter From Last Night

Post by cataclysm »

Seeing was pretty good last night, and Jupiter was right overhead at 11pm, an opportunity not to miss. I finally got my act together on the Mewlon's collimation with an actual star. Using Altiar which was just passed zenith, and with the help of the DMK video cam, i really nailed the scope's collimation this time.

RGB composite of 450 subs on each filter. DMK21 mono Camera, 3x TV Barlow at approx. F34.

And here is the family portrait. This was imaged at Mewlon's native focal length of 2400mm with DMK41 mono camera. The camera's larger 1/2 inch sensor was able to capture all the Galilean Moons at the same time.
