24/02/2010 - AR 1048 and 1050

Post by THEO-007 »

Good afternoon guys.

Very very poor seeing today with big humidity and mist here in athens.

I tried for the best photo results under this situation.

Region 1050 has a big AR filament near her.. The sunspot is very beautifull.

The other region 1048 has no sunspots this time. The magnetic craters goes down and the magnetic activity decreased.

Hi,THEO-007
Why do you call the region 1048?I think its 1049.Sunspot 1048 was unspectacular and disappear soon after it showed up whereas 1049 survive all the way after it appeared.Anyway its over the other side of the sun now.;However do look out for sunspot 1051.I saw it as a dot and actually photo it,but I must say that its very small and need apo class refractor at high magnification and steady atmosphere to see it.Also 1050 which suddenly appear yesterday should be providing a v.good show in days ahead.Thanks.
