honestly, I don't see that a GM8 is a substantial upgrade over a GP2 except in payload. Losmandy mounts aren't completely trouble-free.

This guy "Available Astro Gears" has a used EM-10 with guide port for about $1600 SGD:

(scroll to the bottom of the page)

Granted it has no GoTo and is not upgradable, but right now there are no GM8's with GoTo available because the Gemini is in short supply, so if you buy a GM8 or G11 you have to get the digital drive version (no GoTo).

stuart, I believe that's the "Ovision" worm... which is a $500 upgrade. makes the Losmandy's that much less desirable. I understand as the GM8 has 1/2 the # of teeth compared to the G11, the improvement from the Ovision worm is only 1/2 as much.

The EM-200 is great! I'd be happy to have one, but too rich for me. :-P

Sometimes you see NJP's in the $4K to $5K range (used). But those are quite rare.

Would you sell the synscan alone? I already have a Vixen GP, and i definitely have no money to afford a GP2.
