Supermoon and how big was it??

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Supermoon and how big was it??

Post by weixing »

Hi,
Took the Supermoon on last Saturday, 19 Mar 2011, using my Canon EF400mm F5.6L. Stack 37 images (not really necessary, but nothing better to do). Below is the image:

The Supermoon was around 356,577km at it's closest. So how big was Supermoon?? I seldom shoot full Moon, but luckily, I used the same lens to shoot the Partial Lunar Eclipse last year.
So, below is the comparsion image:

Have a nice day.

Actually not that much bigger... I made a mistake when doing the comparsion image... [smilie=sweetdrop.gif] I forget that I use a different camera to took the partial lunar eclipse... [smilie=embarrassed.gif]

Had update the image liao... now should be accurate.

Have a nice day.

The difference in size is about 14%. But good comparison, Weixing!
