Hi all,
Apart from PC programmes and pda software, is there a small paperback book that list ALL the Messier and NGC objects complete with position, magnitudes, constellation residing?
I'm looking for one as a quick guide and realised that even Patrick Moore's book only list a selection but not the complete listing.

Thanks

For Messier objects, S&T's Messier Card (US$4.95, laminated) shows the location of all 109 messier objects on the front and tabulates their coordinates, sizes, and magnitudes on the back.

Hi Rich,

I thought the M and NGC are in your pocket starchart book? You can flip to the index to see which page it is on.

Rich,

Your starfinder book? Ryan's or Philips of something like that? Stars and Planets I think.

My book has the NGC and M objects listed in the index so you find it and flip to the chart it is on.. no need for any additional chart.

Anyway, if you want the whole list, I'm sure its available on the net somewhere. Can just print out the whole list (formatted in small letters of course)

Clear skies!

oh..the Philips Guide to Stars and Planets?
It has all the M objects but only a small selection of NGC stuff...
maybe you're right...I should just use that book...

Hi Rich,

Not the one you bought at the borders bargain bin, but the one you use normally for obbing? It should be able to serve your purposes.
