Vincent Kee in Straits Times!

This is a little off-topic... Hey, our able Adminstrator Vincent Kee (VinSnr) is in the Straits Times today (Wednesday 23rd Nov 2005). There is a large photo of him and two others on page 2 of the main section, regarding a share investment portal he started called http://www.sgfunds.com. (hmmmmm.......

Re: Logo

The logo you see on the top left hand corner is the singastro logo. It's in the shape of S inside an A. Hi Q, Strange, but i don't see any logo on the top left hand corner of any of the pages. Maybe it's my browser setting. I've never seen this logo you are referring to. Anyway, thanks to all for y...

hello cc, Yes, the forum pages (like this one) look fine and work very well. I'm referring specifically to the main index page, which presumably those who first surf to the website, from say Google or by typing in the URL, go to. It's a suggestion on aesthetics, rather than what it can bring us in p...

hi richard,

oh yes, i agree the site itself is very good and well run. I'm referring to the appearance of the main page and suggesting that perhaps it could be "beautified" as it is rather plain right now. I referred to the two other sites for ideas rather than comparisons.

Logo for Singastro / More colourful index page

I was wondering if the administrators / moderators could make the index page of www.singastro.org a bit more colourful. Right now, it looks quite functional and does not have much "spirit". Perhaps we could come up with a design for a logo, add background photos, etc. Maybe we could have a...

Hi Alpine,

Well, I've related what he told me about what he did using Shell X55. I don't know more about that. Perhaps a search on the net might yield some clues, or you can try calling Shell in Singapore.

I got to see Tachyon's WO Zenithstar 80mm fluorite just now at Joo Beng's place. It was cloudy when I arrived, so I did not look thru the scope. However, I can say that physically, the scope is a real jewel. It is so beautifully made that it could be bought just for looking at it rather than thru it...

The scope's fit and finish looks fabulous! Now there are so many 80mm-class APO scopes on the market (even WO has about 3 APO models in the 80mm range), we are spoilt for choice. But that makes deciding which one rather difficult. For starters, apart from price, portability issues, etc, anyone knows...

I received the Borders voucher by post from Mr. Lee yesterday. I'd like to say many thanks to Mr. Lee for his generous sponsorship! Thanks too to the organisers and officials of the sketching competition. I think it was a very good idea. Also thanks to those who let me view thru their scopes at Mars...
