As blurblock as said :)
It's not as smooth. But if your camera tripod is good enough, it can be quite smooth, but the good ones can cost as much as a mount for a telescope. Better to get the EQ2 that Sam is selling :)

Im curious on how SLR cameras can be attached to telescopes and how they are taken. Are the adaptors available in the market for SLR cameras a one size fits all kind? nikon/canon/etc ? i doubt it's available in singapore, i can't find it anywhere. I got mine thru remus, from HK. and it's not cheap... in some auctions, it's about 100-120USD

I saw a few really faint ones... that's about it. Kinda disappointing, was hopping to see more. Last year's shower to me was better. Saw about 10-15 per hr.

Sam Chng tried once to use the toucam on my teleport to image mars. Even at f5 (1250mm), placing the image on the chip was tough but we managed to grab a few dozen frames. Focus was dubious. I tried to guide by manually moving the dob with some success but we ended up letting the image drift across...
