Wow, great skies and great pictures! I sure hope I'll be able to travel overseas for such an wonderful experience. The skies there are completely different from what we experience here in Singapore--light polluted skies, stars being dimmed and hardly visible to the naked eyes and bad/cloudy weather ...

Wow, thank you all for sharing your experience. I can't wait until the day I get to see a total solar eclipse myself. Being a student, with no income, I can't afford to get out to other countries just to view a solar eclipse.. Sure hope I can live long enough to look at the next total solar eclipse ...

Didn't do any observation that night, so didn't notice that. But that day was actually the day the solar eclipse occured in China and other parts of the Earth, so I'm not sure if what you saw was related (although it's not likely). Anyway just for your information, from wikipedia: "A shooting s...

Yeah, and on top of that, if anyone living nearby wants to come over to check out the field.. I'm available anytime (best on weekends). Just post here, or drop me a PM and I'll give you my contact info. You don't have to bring any equipment if you don't want to, cause I'll bring along my binoculars.

Glad that I could be of help. I also edited my previous post to include minor details about the planisphere I've got. By the way, the prices I stated is McGill's student price, and I think most of the stocks are out already (you can email Jim to confirm), so I don't think you'll get such a subsidise...

Nice, impressive work. I did went out to take a look at Jupiter through my binoculars earlier on. But being a newbie, I wasn't able to identify any other stars although I did see tons of them and I think I saw Vegas, Altair and Deneb too. A lot of other stars I couldn't identify, gotta wait for anot...
