Re: Solar cycle 25

Mr Chia and solar enthusiasts, As many celebrate Mother's Day (9May) today, Sunspot AR2822 continued its flaring campaign. I caught this image of it at 9am this morning as it was getting ready to flare. The flare went off at about 1 pm, a C1.5 class flare. Just by looking at the image, you can see h...

Re: Solar cycle 25

Solar enthusiasts, today was a good day for observing the active regions near the western limbs: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2Cqg8EJ52G4/YIpZ0LOV3tI/AAAAAAAAuAs/ibBidDTAIScL44XFqrkBk9JeBJ8baguBQCLcBGAsYHQ/s1930/C110.28UTC%2BMask%2BAR2821.jpg These sunspots have ejected many flares last weekend and on...

Re: Solar cycle 25

Dear Mr Chia and solar enthusiasts, I managed to take some videos using a C11 SCT in H-Alpha and Calcium-K wavelengths and made stills from them. First, from Spaceweather, the survey of the solar disk. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bxlLOImkwaQ/YIa5aJLmLyI/AAAAAAAAt98/IGrd-QGnWiwFxK86lgdYjCHvReX1d2q4ACL...

Re: Solar cycle 25

Hi Alfred Now the sun 20 April 2021.... In Ha 0.5A bandwidth..... 2818,the sunspot just rotated into view show up as a big filament, no bright region detected. 2816, unlike spaceweather saying, is quite dim and little sign of flare as of 4pm. 2817,very bright glowing region., looks like its flaring...

A CAK observation in CAK on 15 Apr from 8:40 to 9:15am. On the SDO website, the active region AR2814 is in the southern hemisphere around the 4-5 O'clock bearing. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2z7F2rqos28/YH0tRFErMfI/AAAAAAAAt48/gTPQS81OHtsilKIM_NwQdjwmN_TtImLAwCLcBGAsYHQ/s1024/latest_1024_1600.jpg Usi...

Re: Solar cycle 25

Thanks Mr Chia for the update on the Sun on 2 Apr. Here is a belated posting on the images taken on 20 March. This Hydrogen-Alpha image was from Global Oscillation Network Group (GONG). It showed the position of Active Region 2810. https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OWnyuqicrtM/YGhBlZWfLuI/AAAAAAAAt1M/Bg09J...

Re: Solar cycle 25

In Ha 0.5A bandwidth...... Today that one on the northern belt becomes one with the shape like a hen leg followed by a filament. Also there are two bright regions in the southern belt., and a small filament. At the edge of the northern belt there is a fat short prominence....... Its a trend that no...

Re: Solar cycle 25

14Mar21. Used an 11 inch telescope for an in-depth look at the active region AR 2808 in Hydrogen Alpha wavelength. Saw dark fibrils, filaments and plage surrounding the AR, illuminated by light by Hydrogen atoms in the Sun's upper atmosphere. This image from NSO, Australia shows the location of the ...
