Re: Milky way?

Thanks Gary & Avarielle for the kinds words. Glad you like it. :D I think a lot of people would have noticed that yesterday's night skies were exceptionally clear and cloudless (with occassional fast passing clouds). Decided to go for a shoot at a new location at the south so that I can pick up ...

Re: Stargazing for Beginners - SAFRA Jurong- 17 Aug (Sat)

Hi Gary, congrats on the full house and appreciate your continuous efforts to educate and bring astro awareness to the public. Also great to see the support of many telescope volunteers for this event. Hope there will be more and more people taking up this as a hobby with you and your volunteers' ef...

Re: My Astrophotography Progress (in random order)

Not sure whether this is the same meteor. But I was one of witnesses that Gary mentioned. Some details maybe can help to determine whether this was the same one: the meteor I saw definitely looks greenish in color. I was lying on the floor with legs pointing towards north and looking up at zenith wh...

Re: Meteor or satellite?

After visually spotted a meteor at 3:44am (14 August 2013) among the thin clouds, left my cam to take interval shots before I going to sleep. Just finished looking through the shots. Looks like I have caught another meteor and this should be a perseid :) Time stamp: 5:41am. Cam was pointing at N 356...

Re: Milky way?

Another shot of the Milky Way taken but this time with landscape :mryellow: Taken during the Perseid meteors obs session with Gary and Dave on 13 August 2013 at Bishan Park. A impromptu attempt to try out a landscape shot of the Milky Way since the southern sky was clear before the clouds moved in. ...

Re: Milky way?

First MW shoot for August 2013. Started at around yesterday midnight when the MW was starting to set. Sky was actually not as clear as I have hoped for (some thin high clouds were present). Nevertheless still managed to image the MW for the 4th month in a row :mryellow: 12 x 60secs http://farm6.stat...

Re: Milky way?

So many Milky Way experts here! Maybe this upcoming long weekend, I might try to capture the Milky Way from my place at Bukit Timah. Time to borrow Pentax O-GPS unit from Dave. If he can capture Milky Way at Ang Mo Kio, I'm hoping that I can capture something from my place as well. Seems like you g...

Re: Milky way?

I think a suitable place to explore would be lck cemetries area. Deep inside with no street lamps and it should be rather dark place for milkyway shoot. Maybe Gary want to conduct a sidewalk for good brothers during the coming festival..... Although I never been there before, I am pretty sure lck a...

Meteor or satellite?

Once again...decided to post another newbie question here. Earlier in the night, I was at Dave's meteor watch session at Bishan Park for a short while. Met Dave, Bornfree & Hong Lian (hope I remember your name correct) and hope you guys have a fun night. Did a 150 interval shots sequence there w...
