WTS: Guidescope set (ZWO ASI120MM mini + Svbony SV165) - not for sale atm

Selling an excellent condition guidescope + guidecam set - ZWO ASI120MM mini - Svbony SV165 30mm mini guidescope Used less than 5 times, and extremely short sessions only. Selling to raise funds for other stuff. Don't think guiding suits my setup too, adds too much stuff to carry. Looking for $250 f...

Re: My astrophotography 2021

The trailing is in RA but only very very slight. When you do the phd2 drift alignment on target, do you adjust the azimuth or altitude? I intend to only take 30s subs. The precision in RA on the star tracker even with autoguiding may be questionable. I guess your scope FL is 250mm or shorter, and t...

Re: My astrophotography 2021

Is the trailing (with autoguiding on) in the DEC or RA? I guess it is DEC. From what you describe, you have already achieved a very low alignment error (suppose the unit is arcmin). The visibility of a given DEC/RA error is determined by your pixel scale. If my total drift error RMS is 2.x'' per mi...

Re: My astrophotography 2021

Thanks! Mine is the one-color-shot version which came out 1+ year ago. What specific problem have you encountered using PHD2 autoguiding on the tracker? On the tracker, you need to first turn off the PHD2 autoguiding on DEC. Then if the calibration goes well, the drift alignment and guiding will be...

Re: My astrophotography 2021

Also attempted at very wide-angle photography. The idea was to capture the rich southern region of the Milky Way: due to their low altitude even at meridian, these stars are a bit unfamilair to me -- except for the Alpha-Beta Cen, the southern cross, and the fake cross. The outcome turns out better...

Re: M50 Heart-Shaped Cluster

A gem I missed on my target list. A rich and beautiful starfield that makes a nice wallpaper. I checked my 16mm (APSC) wide-angle shot and identified a little small concentration as the cluster there. Thanks! Quite interesting that there's a small part of seagull nebula at the left side, less than ...

Re: My astrophotography 2021

Look over forest towards Auriga and Gemini. It gives a sense of how severe light pollution is. The foreground grass was lit by my handphone's torchlight (LED), otherwise it would appear pitch black in the exposure -- however the taller tree at the back is illuminated by distance lights. https://lh3...

M50 Heart-Shaped Cluster

Messier 50 (M50), nicknamed the Heart-Shaped Cluster, is a large, bright open cluster located in the constellation Monoceros. A small telescope reveals the cluster’s distinctive heart-shaped figure. M50 is composed of many young, hot, luminous blue stars. It also contains several yellow giants and a...
