TEC Telescopes

Anyone any experience with TEC telescopes (http://www.telescopengineering.com)?

I am thinking of saving up for a TEC APO110FL. The reviews are very favourable and in some reviews they suggests that it outperforms Takahashis.

Do you need to dismantle the scope for the powder-coating?

Is it mandatory to remove existing paint for the shop to powder-coat?

Orly, Will a 70-200 f2.8 work for astro pics? Or maybe even 70-200 + 2x or 3x teleconverter?

Oh, I thought its adding a lens to make it a air-spaced doublet. Umm not sure if I am right saying that without studying much into it. Just curious, did that photo show the modification done? I guess its adding another lens into the 8" achro?
