Re: Orion's Belt and Neighboring Nebulae

Actually I just processed another stack of 17x 3min Ha images taken also from last Nov with the same setup, enjoy!

I guess the lack of clear skies can help improve one's processing skills somewhat haha! :mryellow:

Re: Orion's Belt and Neighboring Nebulae

Ooops seems like the link expired, could you check if it works now? Here's an old Ha image of M42 I tool last year with the ASI1600MM, with improved processing to further enhance the nebulosity. Total exposure: 43 x 2min William Optics GT71 with ASI1600MM, Optolong 7nm H alpha filter https://lh3.goo...

Re: Mars Opposition 2020

Finally managed to capture well over 1h of mono videos of Mars last night when the skies were finally clear enough for some high-resolution planetary imaging. Although Mars is already a few days past opposition and almost 2 weeks past its closest approach to Earth, I am still quite satisfied with t...

Mars Opposition 2020

As we are approaching the opposition of Mars in 2 weeks' time, I took a photo of the rocky world on 28 Sep midnight close to zenith, enjoy! Imaging Telescope: Celestron C9.25 Imaging camera: ASI462MC Captured 1min each of RGB videos, sharpened in Registax and aligned colour channels in Photoshop. 20...

WIP: M16 Eagle Nebula

This is my first attempt at long exposure astrophotography using the C8 EdgeHD with the 0.7x reducer/flattener on a bright emission nebula target. I have to say that while the single 5 min H-alpha sub really blew me away, I had evidently some trouble with differential flexure at this high focal leng...

Re: How precious are clear night skies in Singapore?

For the climate of Singapore you can refer to this excellent introduction: http://www.weather.gov.sg/climate-climate-of-singapore/ It does depend on the time of year as the monsoon winds reverse, the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) migrate north and south of Singapore. In addition you need to...
