BBC threat to axe The Sky At Night

Post by Davegn »

after 56 years on television with over 720 eps the BBS might plan to axe the Sky At Night [smilie=desperate2.gif]

and sadly, there is no reason why they are doing so. [smilie=crying2.gif]

BBC confirmed that discussions are currently ongoing over show's future
and maybe.... this could help...

Budgetary concerns, I guess?

These days, astro-related stuff like NASA and this gets less priority, and the amount of priority they lost is then given to increase the already high-priority on pop culture gimmicks. -_-
Thanks.

Cut here cut there again to finance for war on this and that.Cut until no more fund to finance
Physic dept and in some Uni,school of physics have to close down.
On the other hand, see ALL those BIG economies increasing military spending--keep on buying more advance killing machine--F15 not enough, now F-35;ICBMs and even countries with massive poor population testing new ICBMs.Stupid and regretible.
By the way,Dark Neptune, the issue of magnetic flux line actually can easily be resolve if countries want to do it--by creating 'man made solar eclipse' on space stations daily and photo the corona around the sun. These photos will give a rough indication of the flux lines in these regions. The problem is--nowadays,no one interested in such theory type research. If you propose a new way of killing in wars--they will be more interested--otherwise what you propose MUST have a commercial monetary return.
Thats why they cut TV programs with little or no monetary returns.

Oh the irony isn't it?

Nah, they focus more on physics UNDER the defense ministry which helps develops laser and other weapons.

Can imagine Sir Patrick Moore wanting to rise up from his grave to haunt those people that threaten to axe his show.
Thanks.
