Spotless and Featureless sun.
In Ha 0.5A bandwidth
Only small prominence on edge of northern and southern belt with filaments on the belt.

In 540nm..... Two tiny tiny dotted sunspot just emerged., presumably 2804 visible.
In Cak...... Two bright region emerged in the northern belt., one associated with a dying sunspot and another with a emerging sunspot.
In Ha., 0.5A bandwidth...... Interesting filaments on the northern belt with a fat prominence on the western edge., clearly indicates that the northern belt is increasing in activities. However there is no show on the southern belt.

Sun..... ALERT
There is a large inverted u.... the lower U..... shaped prominence at the rotating into view of the southern belt. Easily seen with a Ha 0.5A bandwidth scope.... Do take a look. Thanks.

Yes, ht of prominence about 1/3 base width and base width approx 200,000 km. The largest I manage to pick up in this solar cycle.
Next, today's sun.
In 540nm...... Sunspot on both northern and southern belt. On the northern belt, the previous mentioned 2 dot has expanded into a series of spot taking a Z shape if joined together. The main spot core had split up into 3 close together pieces.
The spot on the southern belt is much smaller., but even this small core had split into two.
In Ha 0.5A bandwidth.......... Good show of prominence on both northern and southern belt., with that nice inverted U prominence at southern belt edge. Also 2 bright region in northern belt and 1 bright region in the southern belt. The one in the southern belt is where the sunspot is.
In Cak...... The 3 regions mentioned above show up as bright region again in cak.
Next, today's sun.

The above mentioned prominence gone today although a low horizontal spray is detected., but no match to yesterday's view. Here is today's view...... Approx 11am.
In 540nm....... Sunspot 2804 lost its Z shape and become a 2 spot system...... with the smaller spot consist of a bigger spot followed by a smaller spot besides it. The big spot however takes the shape of a comma with a penumbra.
Sunspot 2805,yesterday registered as a doublet small sunspot failed to show up on my scope no matter how I search..... Must be small indeed.
In Cak.... 3 bright region as yesterday., one associated with 2804,one with 2805.,and one more in the northern belt near 2804.

https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hL6i7CBlJJE/ ... klig.jpg28 Feb, AR 2804 has been active this week. It ejected a C3.9 flare at about 2:40pm today. The western limb where it is at looked like this at 11 am in Calcium-k wavelength (lower chromosphere of the Sun):

Now for the action today.

14Mar21. Used an 11 inch telescope for an in-depth look at the active region AR 2808 in Hydrogen Alpha wavelength. Saw dark fibrils, filaments and plage surrounding the AR, illuminated by light by Hydrogen atoms in the Sun's upper atmosphere.

This is the image I took with a Celestron 11" SCT:
This active region harbours energy for C-class flares. Do keep watching it.
