For those who drive and need to trolley their setup, the multi-storey car park (with lift) at BLK 739A (above Sheng Siong 1 Station Market) is recommended (unless your trolley width is wider than 1.2m) as space in the other car park are quite limited. The blue line indicated the path you should took from the multi-story car park to the scope setup area.

20:44 SGT, Europa's shadow begins to cross Jupiter.
20:56 SGT, Europa begins transit of Jupiter.
23:26 SGT, Europa's shadow leaves Jupiter's disk.
23:34 SGT, Europa ends transit of Jupiter.

Jupiter's 2010 opposition(actual date: 21 Sep 2010 19:36 SGT) will be the planet's brightest and best opposition of its entire 11.8-year orbit as the planet reaching perihelion (its closest point to the Sun, at 4.95 Astronomical Units or 740 million kms) just six months later, in March 2011.

Uranus' 2010 opposition(actual date: 22 Sep 2010 00:58 SGT) occur just 5 hours after Jupiter.

By the way, during this year till early next year, Jupiter and Uranus will be having a triple conjunction. The first conjunction took place on 6 June, the second conjunction will take place during this coming opposition and the last conjunction will be on 2 Jan next year.

BTW, if you are there early, Venus, Mars and Saturn will also be visible low in the Western Sky after sunset. In all 5 planets will be clearly visible to the naked eye the whole night! Don't miss it!

Anyway, let's hope the weather will be good and see you guys there! [smilie=cute.gif]

So which date is it? J or U opposition, or 18 Sep? :)

Since you guys are bringing only reflectors so far, I will bring a C6R refractor modified on a new setup.

I don't think I'll make it tonight - I ended up having very little sleep last night for various reasons and I just don't have the energy unfortunately. The weather's looking pretty good though so happy observing to all!
