Although the lunar eclipse observation the other day is 99.99% a total failure, it intrigues me to look forward to similar events observable from Singapore/SEA in the not-to-far future.
2022: 1 Total lunar eclipse on Nov 8. Barely observable from Singapore. Might as well travel across a couple of time zones eastwards.

2023: 1 hybrid solar eclipse on April 20. The totality shadow will pass East Timor. Haven't been to that country yet. But perhaps the best time to pay it a visit then?

2024: NONE!
2025: 1 Total lunar eclipse on Sept 8. Very nice position and the totality will be near zenith over Singapore!

2026: 1 total lunar eclipse on 2026. Similar situation to the one in 2022.

2027: None
2028: 1 total solar eclipse on July 22. The totality shadow will go right through Sydney! Expect the travel costs to skyrocket!

Thanks hhzhang. Seems like not much action 1 deg above the equator. Hopefully by 2023 normalcy will return.
