Hi Matthew and all,
I know you were curious about taking Uranus at Mersing on my ETX. I never thought it was possible but check out the guy below that managed to image Uranus on his ETX105. The best part is how the guy managed to get the planet into his FOV at high magnification..
Also look at the details on Saturn....amazing...all I get is one blurred blob (sounds like my favourite ice cream from the 1980s!)

Hi,weixing wrote:Hi,
It should not be a problem for a 105 MCT to take image of saturn, may be your setting is not correct or exposure is too short... ??
Was quoting my experience in Mersing. Unfortunately, my stupid harddisk decided to ORD from my computer suddenly and I lost all my latest Mersing pics. Saturn is fairly bright, and I took her using a variety of exposures. Maybe its my camera but I can't get a sharp focus. The pics come out blurred and featureless. In some cases, can see the ring clearly but just not in focus. I guess one MUST stack photos in order to get decent pics...
