CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

The clouds did clear eventually, so here is another shot exactly 2 hours later, at 5:20am :

Nice shots sam...seems the red moon is a key feature last night...I wonder what caused it? perhaps sunlight passing through out atmosphere diffracted the red light most and this is what is reflected on the moon ?

Did you try those time exposure shots showing the progress. this shots here look more like "normal" moon phases rather than suggest that an eclipse is in progress! but the red moon is spectaculat non the less.
I heard remus also succeeded...waiting for him to post his pics...

Well, I sure wish I could have taken pictures showing the eclipse in progress, but the cloud activity in my area made it impossible. The moon was nowhere to be seen until 3:20am when I got the first pic. After that, the moon was totally lost for like 2 hours before I managed to get the second, so in the end those were the only 2 shots I managed to get

Really regretted not joining the guys at SP !
