Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.

No. It's 88 constellations. And you don't have to remember every one of them, some are inaccessible because they're right at our horizon only. There are some more well-known ones only, which we must recognise... These are quite easy, cos they've got easy to remember patterns.
hmm.. so which are the well-known ones?? can you name me some? because i don't really know which one is well-known.. but i only know i always see Orion when the sky is clear...

To help remember them more easily, read or watch more Greek Mythology related movies like Jason and the Golden Fleece, Clash of the Titans etc... when you have the chance
You will see that many constellations are named after those characters (both heroes and villians ) you meet in those movies/books.
haha.. i have a planisphere with me now.. other than the twelve horoscopes, still can remember some like Hercules, Orion...
i know and can remember some names.. but i always forgot the shapes...
maybe need to read it more often.. hee
by the way, is my avatar nice?? is a black hole..

Once you can recognize at least one constellation and with the help of a star atlas that you can bring out with you into the field, you can slowly move away from the borders of that constellation you are familiar with and start to learn your way around it by comparing and associating the actual views of the sky and what you see on the atlas. When you successfully identify another constellation, just repeat the steps above and move on to the others around it.
It can be really fun. That was how I learnt my way around
