Anyone who successfully photographed the sun before, care to share how you got your photos? Specifically: aperture size, exposure, film speed and magnification.
This is in preparation for next June's transit of Venus.

Check with Remus and Samuel. They both have done it and Remus has quite a number of sun spots pics.ChaosKnight wrote:Anyone who successfully photographed the sun before, care to share how you got your photos? Specifically: aperture size, exposure, film speed and magnification.

I'm using conventional slr for this shoot. Using the manual shutter speed setting, there is no light metering.Area503 wrote:i do have a funny suggestion. Why not let the camera's program do the caculation, about the mag, can't help u there. i'm waiting to see how my moon photos come out. may post online if its nice. btw, wanna meet up to do astrophotography for the event?
Anyway i tried taking a few shots with a solar filter yesterday. Will know the results today. If results are good, i'll do the actual shoot on June 8th.
