Anyone photographed Sun before?

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Anyone photographed Sun before?

Anyone who successfully photographed the sun before, care to share how you got your photos? Specifically: aperture size, exposure, film speed and magnification.

This is in preparation for next June's transit of Venus.

Check with Remus and Samuel. They both have done it and Remus has quite a number of sun spots pics.

I'm using conventional slr for this shoot. Using the manual shutter speed setting, there is no light metering.

Anyway i tried taking a few shots with a solar filter yesterday. Will know the results today. If results are good, i'll do the actual shoot on June 8th.
