Hi, just to share out my 1st try astrophoto on Messier object
shoot with 20D + 70-200L @ F3.5
stack of 16 30s @ ISO1600

Orion Nebula(M42)

i don't see star trails..

corrected in ps? or it's on a tracking mount?

thanks all :P but does the focus & color correct?
coz i try to focus with DSLR and the star look too small.
btw, this had been crop too much, the horsehead is too dim to show.

yes, was on astrotrac with cheapo pan tilt mount(temporary) ...
some rough polar align with compass and i can get 30s wihtout star trail.
it does show trail on 1min though
