My friends staying in the west and north-west have been very supportive of promoting stargazing awareness in Toa Payoh/Bishan over the years. It's about time for us to return them a small favour. Hope to see some of the big guns and cannons during this event.

All set and ready for the event tonight! Looking forward to catching up with my friends and their telescopes.
As usual, for the latest updates, in the event I do not have time to update this thread, read my tweets on twitter or from my blog.

This is the multi-purpose court where we will deploy our telescopes and conduct live stargazing sessions tonight.
All lights within the control of SAFRA Jurong will be switched off at this court.

I miss the place where stars shine bright, to gaze upwards in awe of the sight
Re: Stargazing for Beginners - SAFRA Jurong- 20 April (Sat)
Thanks for the support Traveler and Junwei!
Big thanks to SAFRA Jurong for organising the event - very professionally managed! They are extremely glad and surprised by the huge turnout. Should have more opportunities to collaborate with SAFRA for future events.
Sky was clear enough to observe Moon and Saturn after the light late afternoon drizzle. Nearer to midnight, the sky was getting clearer and managed to observe Omega Centauri and Jewel Box too.
My heartfelt thanks to all participants especially the telescope volunteers and helpers. Have not seen so many telescopes turning up for an astro event in Singapore for a while. Had a great time catching up with old friends and making new ones!
Will upload some pics when I have the time to process them since it is more fun and important to spread the word about the Lyrid Meteor Shower and preparing for the upcoming Saturn opposition events this coming weekend. And watching NEAF videos of course.
