Re: Meade bought over
It leaves to be seen if this is good news or not. If that means better penetration and more accessibility and lower cost for customers such as those in Singapore, it could only be good news.

Re: Meade bought over
Will it affect the Colorado line of instrument? and its quality? If the BF is production
and supply affected,it will definitely 'expire' lots of solar observer when their BF
dread rusted fully and cant get replacement.

"Meade Instruments will be led by Joseph A. Lupica as Chief Executive Officer. Joe brings over 25 years of experience in the Optical Industry and is eager to lead the current management team...."
Waitttt a minute... That name sounds familiar!
Just checked it and...
http://www.celestron.com/portal/article ... a-retires/
"Torrance, CA (June 18, 2013) – Celestron, the world’s number-one telescope designer and manufacturer, announced today that its CEO, Joe Lupica, is retiring after 26 years with the company, effective immediately."
Wow! I guess he retired, found it boring, and thought... maybe I should just run Meade!

Re: Meade bought over
If really 4.5 million its really cheap. That amount not enough to migrate to Australia,NZ or perhaps even Singapore. With this 4.5 million, can now master the tech of making the irregular corrector plate of sct, refractor lens design software; and the secret of making the 'echalon' of the solarmax scope.Really a SUPER BARGAIN,if true.
