Hi,
I have just 'inherited' a Takahashi Sky-90 from a friend. What kind of Goto mount do you all recommend? Something portable would be great.
I am relatively new to astronomy.
Thanks.

Hi David,
Do you intend to do astrophotography or just visual observation?

I asked about the Nexstar evolution goto mount but I think the telescope will not be to clear the eyepiece tray because of the length.

The Nexstar mounts usually come as a complete set unless someone willing to break his system up. I think Idris has a "spare" original Nexstar 8i mount. I can check with him if he is interested to let it go. Otherwise, you can check out the Ioptron range. They do sell budget goto mounts that is suitable for your setup.

I have a cheap Ioptron Cube mount and although it is super portable and easy to set up, it struggles to even keep up with the weight of an Orion ST-80 (the clutch is plastic, so I don't ever tighten it too much). Don't know about the weight of your scope but I'd look elsewhere if I could do it all over again.
