Lagoon Complex and others pictures

Post by rcj »

Hi all,
Have uploaded some pictures taken during this mid-year mersing expedition:

Lagoon Complex
Details: 300mmCZ f4 at f5.6, 50 minutes exposure. Was experimenting with Konica's Centuria 400 which has a better overal spectral response, and less saturated reds than E200, but with more grain.

Canis Major
Details: Nikon 28mm f2.8 at f4, 15 minutes exposure. Kodak Ektarchrome 200.

Star Trails from Mersing
Details: Nikon 28mm f2.8, about an hour plus. Kodak Ektarchrome 200.

yeah man, Remus...great pictures...I especially like the artisitic feel to the Canis Major one...
I don't know how you did it previously but I like the way you made the images such that when we move the cursor over the various objects, we get a text message indicating what it is. This would be especially useful to newbies like me...! Do consider doing that especially for the multi-object images.
And keep the images coming!

ps..welcome back, Comet Remus.. hope your voice is recovered by now...

Good pictures, Remus. May I know the place you took those photo...is that the same place your guys always go? For the Lagoon Complex region, have you adjust by any software?
Hope I can join you once to the observation site.
