for those who want to see the clip, don't click the link as the target server does not allow for direct linking. instead, right click on the link and select "save link target as ".
(this is for Netscape users...those using the "other" web browser should right click and select something similar...)
btw chris, your clip does not seem to show the tear drop effect which has been happening for imagers in asia...also, how come there is so much shaking? is it due to the wind?

Hi there,
I tried to download the video, but it gave me a 'dlparent.shtml.html' file instead...I did right-click and save target as. I'm using Opera.
[update]
Tried with IE, it worked this time.
I agree, it's really shaky, and the seeing isn't good. It's nice, though, to be able to see the clip of the contact during the venus transit, -after- the transit is long over. We'll have to contend with clips like this until June 2012, when the next transit happens

Rich,
You never read my "notes" right?
Yah, a gust of wind decided to pick up just at the moment. I had to take umbrella to try and shield the wind as much as possible... which explains the sudden 'blackout' in the clip.. the umbrella got in the way.
Also, my mount is just a photo tripod, so cannot compare to GEMs. I just mount the RA at a 90 deg angle for equatorial tracking, so its very unsteady but workable if no wind.
