A snap of this morning's conjunction of the Moon and Mercury. You may struggle to pick out Mercury from the dust on your monitor but its to the upper right of the moon and makes an almost isosceles triangle with the aircraft at lower right. It is a bit more obvious on the original on Flickr.

Mercury is always elusive - I'm from the UK and I only ever saw it once on an especially favourable apparition. But, for a casual naked-eye astronomer, it is probably one of the few objects that is easier to see from Singapore - even with the LP, the haze and the cloud. But no complaints about the seeing conditions this morning - this was taken around 6:30 with Mercury just 8 degrees above the horizon. The aircraft is on its landing approach into Changi.
cheers
