WTS: Solar Herschel Wedge by Lacerta, 1.25" & T2 threaded
This 1.25 inch version is intended to use in place of diagonal ONLY in 5 inch or smaller achromat or apo.
Safety Note:
1. NOT to use in Petzval, Extender-Q or other refractors with any rear lens directly before diagonal.
2. NEVER insert any filter directly in front of herschel wedge
Herschel Wedge generally provide better solar detail than other white light solar filter. Lacerta Herschel Wedge uses Brewster angle (56.6 degree) to allow wider range of polarisation to give better image contrast.
It comes with the following:
A. Herschel Wedge prism, heatsink, Aluminium housing with T2 threaded both sides
B. 1.25" nose piece with T2 thread
C. ND3 filter, T2 threaded both ends (minimum required filter)
D. T2 barrel tube
E. 1.25" eyepiece holder, T2 threaded both ends
I include additional 1 no. 1.25" filter: Optolong KG3-IRND3POL which combined UV/IR block, ND3, Polarizing, KG3 all in one filter to be used for minimal backfocus 61mm on this herschel wedge prism.
All in excellent condition, except for very minor marks which doesn't impact performance. I've bought new from manufacturer and used just three times, so it is mostly unused in the dry cabinet.
