Hmm.. Since this is in the coffee corner I shall side track abit too I am astounded by our low education level. Well for starters, I think its kinda unfair to generalise education standards based soely on a single topic. For all you know what they teach over there in SR is some number plugging into ...

the planet is circling a red dwarf, probably not getting enough heat to sustain life as we know it... Hmm... I don't think that is quite important, cus even for red dwarfs, they have their own habitable zone, just that it is nearer to the parent star. Whether or not Gl 581 b,c can sustain life real...

Hi whiteholes, Thermodynamics is the study of macroscopic behaviour, and in particular to your example, by employing an approach known as statistical mechanics. Essentially you are considering the total number of microstates in a system, and assigning a probability to that particular microstate. You...

Investigating extrasolar planets
Im actually trying to investigate extrasolar planets and their planetary behaviour by observing eclipsing binaries for my ssef project basicaly because 1. The orbital plane of the 2 stars are almost in line with the observer, hence reducing the problem of inclination when observing extrasolar planet...
