Hi, I just tried it.. the laser projected a straight green line and pointed to the sky. Should i expect it to end with a dot amongst the cloud as i would normally when using a red laser point on the wall during a presentation? I checked the specs on the manual. It says <5mW on Class III and <1mW on ...

Hi, The GOTO system had a database of the stars and the alignment process is basically to map the internal stars database to the actual stars. Using your coordinate, date and time, the GOTO system will be able to calculate the actual position of the objects on the sky. Have a nice day. thanks! How ...

How does GOTO mount identify stars after the alignment?

I am curious how does the GOTO knows which stars those are with just 3 points. Distance between the stars? (but there are millions ...

Hi, Base on Carl Zeiss recommendation on fungus prevention, RH of lower than 60% is safe. Anyway, don't set lower than 30%, it might dry up the lubrication in the lens/telescope focusing mechanism. Also don't put the lens cap or the telescope caps on... if you do, it might trap some moisture and fu...

Drybox settings? What's just right?
I bought an electronic drybox to put in my newly acquired Nexstar5.
But I am thinking what is the right humidity I should set? Is it medium? What humidity should I aim for?
I am putting my camera lens in that too. Should it be the same?
It currently reads around 45%
Many thanks.
Michael
