Firmware corruption resolved

Been quite a while since I last posted. Essentially been very busy at work for a few months. However when I took the telescope out on a clear night I found it was completely frozen - the screen lit up but no progress after that or text. Initially I thought the battery was the problem but eventually ...

Any thoughts on Registax? I have tried it a few times but the source images were poor, many images were rejected (manually and automatically). I will try again with video to improve the final result when time permits but would be interested to hear if anyone has experience in this.

Just been reading the manual while waiting for skies to clear. Previously one of the queries was whether it will take 2 inch eyepieces. The answer is yes, but you have to buy the optional 2 inch diagonal. Clear skies and Merry Christmas to everyone. Hope it does clear - I have offered to bring the s...

Thanks. Viewing direct through the back of the scope is a bit tricky without a diagonal because of the clearance. I am also a bit fuzzy on the details by Chia but thanks! Will try these ideas out as the sky clears.

Thanks timatwork, I might try that first as a cheap solution. If it doesn't work out then I might have a look at the Telrad. Thanks all

Neutral density filter

The neutral density filter that comes with my eyepieces has 13% transmission (Meade ND96). The instructions state it is for telescopes 4 inch and larger. Certainly it helps reduce the glare and make it easier to see details on the Moon surface.
Hope that is helpful

One thing I will say is the finder is not terribly helpful. It comes integrated with the telescope but the red dot obscures anything except the brightest object. Any suggestions on a good replacement for it would be welcome.

I have heard that vPost Concierge service allows them to order on your behalf, circumventing the credit card issue.
Alternatively if you know someone in USA, have it shipped to them and then shipped on to you. It is cheaper than going through the online courier services from what I've read

Thanks Gary, I was trying to add as attachments but I think the files were too large. Appreciate your guidance for future reference.
