WTS: Canon 300D Modified - SOLD!

I'm selling my modified 300D now that I'm working with the Artemis CCD camera. The IR internal filter has been removed resulting in much increased sensitivity to H-alpha light. Pls note that for max sensitivity, it has not been replaced with another piece of glass. This does mean that colour balance...

IC 2922

All,

New image, of IC2944 in Carina, showing the Bok globules made famous by Hubble. Have taken care with the individual colour focus and tried for a more natural colour balance - the test is whether you are able to make out star colours even for dim stars.

Image is here.

Remus, You were right about the blue halos - just check focus last night and the blue focus was slightly out resulting in larger stars. The red and green were parfocal, though. Also took a new image, of IC2944 (see separate post), taking care with focus and colour balance which has sorted that out. TG

notice there are weak blue halos for the brighter stars in the image. Remus, I don't actually mind the blue halos - they are due to these stars being much brighter in blue than other colours. With bright stars what happens on images is that the centres are saturated and white regardless of true col...

Boothee,

It looks pretty good to me. Good image processing to show a good range of light and dark features. Also there is good detail and I cannot see the mosaic joins at this scale. Well done.

Nebula in Carina

All,

Another image of a nebula in Carina - NGC3576, with the Artemis 285 camera and H-alpha filter - from my backyard in Perth. A fascinating part of the sky.
