Ah i see. So that's a GOTO. Thanks.
Um, I was checking out astronomydaily's website and they seem to have quite a lot of binos there.
There's the recommended 10 x 50 but would a 12 x 50 or 12.5 x 50 be better? What about a 16 x 50?
I wear glasses. Does it make a difference about the choice of binos I should get?
Thanks.
Looking for a cheap but good telescope
the numbers 10x50 means 10x magnification by 50mm aperture. usually the higher the magnification, the harder it is to hold the bino steadily, thus u will see the stars jumping around in the fov. some people find themselves using 10x50 without problem, others can't hold it that well. do try out a pair before u jump into it.

if you wear glasses, look for one with long eye relief.Dark Prince wrote:Ah i see. So that's a GOTO. Thanks.

I think impt keyword is missing(too much O level)
: Eye relief is the distance from the eye to the eye lens required for the eye to see the whole field of view. Anyway, I suggest unless you have astig, eye relief shld not be a major problem, cos you can do most of your observing without glasses. A twist of the focuser will correct myopia or longsightedness.

Thx a bunch guyz for replying to my question. Gotta buy a bino soon before my cruise! Hopefully the weather clears up. It's been really bad these last few days...Can't see squat...But there was a halo round the moon tonyte despite the thick cloud cover and all...Was a fine halo, it was
