Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Hi AGMI,
I think u should take a look at the actual 8 inch or 10inch, it is veri big in size. The 10 inch is in fact 5/8 of my height.

Hi,
May be you should go to Astro Scienitific Centre to take a look. The biggest newtonian display there is a 10" F5 Newtonian and the second biggest is a 8" F5 Newtonian. Remember, a Dob Newtonian is normally larger in physical size than a EQ mount Newtonian.

So I think may be you should really think twice whether you really want a 8" or 10" Dob!

Good Luck and Have a nice day.

PS: I think a 2 to 3 year old kid can actually hide in that 10" Newtonian... A good place to hide when playing "hide and seek" for kids... Ha Ha Ha

in that case, get a much more portable scope, you are going to miss out a bit. a 10" dob is simply too huge. try getting the 8" portoball from acc

portoballs are very portable, no prob if you wanna move to a nicer site.

I have both 8 ich and 10 inch dobsonian, and I dont find any big different in performance. But 10 inch is definately very much heavier than 8 inch.
