Half Pier for Vixen GP / Synta EQ5 mount

Hi,

I am considering getting a half pier for my EQ5 mount. Would be grateful if anyone could offer any tips or opinions on the use of this item.

Better still, would really appreciate it if someone could loan it to me to try out.
