We are thinking alike, Wee Ern! But how sure you are that the Orion is compatible with the Skywatcher especially after the installation of the permanent RH firmware.

I think should be safe. Got reviews about using this on az gti. Price wise quite a gap for orion and sky watcher controller. az gti need a hand controller to maxismise it. Handphone i feel too buggy.

Just a doubt,
Is hand controller really needed when we have a Sky Watcher WI-Fi dongle and Supporting Skywatcher app ?

Hi Kochu,
Hope you are well. The skywatcher app is more for leisure usage. For Mersing, it will be too bright even in dark mode, plus using a phone or tablet means it can get bright when there are calls, notifications etc. A handcontroller will be easier. I am also looking for one but they are ridiculously expensive. Orion seems to have a compatible one that is cheaper but no confirmation that it is fully compatible.
