C5+ declination motor

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

C5+ declination motor

Hi guys,

my C5+ dec motor has broken down. it does not seem to be responding to the hand controller input. anyone of you able to help me or offer suggestions.

can always consider bringing it to Albert from Astro Science and see if he can do anything....his repairs are not cheap but at least you get a warranty for the repair in singapore...

but before that, have you tried checking if its a contact or power problem?

yup brought it to him.he plugged in his brand new dec motor n it worked. so everythings working except my dec motor. he say fixings not worth it and he offered me that brand new dec motor for 295....Argh!....ahahaha. any bright idea guys?? maybe some other dec motor that is compatible with the c5+(cos i know this c5+ motor is obsolete liao)

Hi,
Just take the motor out and replace the motor lor. I don't think celestron make their own motor and you should be able to find a suitable one in the electronics market.

If you are technically inclined, can try looking for a spare in Sim Lim Tower...
either bring the sample there or note the part number...
