Hi Weixing,
I saw some tents setup next to the mosque. I think they are having some Hari Raya function there tonite, thus I think the obs site should be changed.

Hi:
Meteor event are there all the time. The big major ones that we know produces good meteor rate (eg Gems) while the lesser known one and background meteor can still happen. Moon light (clouds of course) and light pollution will affect the detection rate.
I just stick out an ccd/lens and let the pc do the recording automatically... for fun.

Hmmmm....... zzzzzzz.....
Just woken up from last time obs which end early morning, just before first light. There were lots of Singastronians, not forgeting the curious and enthuastic young folks from the nearby Mosque who came by to take a peek. The sky was generally clear of clouds but the moon washed out most of the DSO.
Tis wat I saw with my scope the usual stuff:
M42
M41
NGC1981
NGC2362
NGC4675( Jewel box)
NGC 5139(Omega Centauri)
M45
Hyades
Cr70
M46( using Weixing's scope)
Satrun
Jupiter
Besides, the planets look great too.
Jupiter: 3 satellites were spotted on the left side of Jupiter. At 75x thru my scope, Two bold brown belts were seen near the equator. At 200x, 2 fainter regions were spotted near the N and S pole of planet.

Hi,
Have a nice day.
Rise Time is the time when the object rise above east horizon and Set Time is the time when the object set in the west horizon.I kinda have an idea but just to clarify, what does Rise Time and Set Time mean?
Have a nice day.
